The fret gut strings are mainly used for historical instruments of the Viola da Gamba family and lutes. Fret guts are wound around the neck of viols and lutes and they reduce the string’s vibrating length. They are uncolored/natural.
Pirastro tail gut strings are hand-made in the traditional way from sheep gut of the highest quality.
The tail gut is the connection between the tail piece and end-button. All tail gut strings are colored black.
