BVS Strad Violin Chinrest, Tamarind

A graceful chinrest, smaller than the large plate Guarneri, and with more fluid lines than the small plate Guarneri. A favorite of ours.

Available with standard “U” style, or Hill-style clamps.

Tamarind is a non-restricted, cultivated wood that mimics the hue of rosewood, and makes an excellent substitute where either conservation or trade restrictions are a concern.

BVS tips:
  • If you have a violin set up in rosewood, and it sounds a bit rough or edgy, replace the chinrest with tamarind to smooth out the tone and make it more pleasant
